Can cow's milk cause ezcema and excess wind

My HV has recently suggested to slowly introduce cow's milk to my DS's cereal.  We started this week and he seems to really be affected by excess wind!  He's started waking again at night, screaming and the only thing that calms him is picking him up - at which point he tends to 'let rip' then falls back to sleep.  He also has a few ezcema like patches on his chest and his neck.  Could this be a result of the cow's milk?

quite possibly
suggest you stop all cow's milk products for at least a week and see if he recovers, then reintroduce and watch for reaction
In the meantime Aveeno cream is great for dry eczema patches (you can get it in Boots or on prescription)

Have stopped giving milk but still gave a small pot of natural yoghurt with mashed banana for lunch - he's been on this for awhile and it didn't seem to affect him BUT, would you suggest getting rid of ALL?
He's eight and a bit months.

I would just drop the milk first and see what happens.  If it's not going away after a couple of weeks I'd try dropping the yogurt.

It did for us. Well, it was ordinary formula that caused it. When we introduced that Ellie got eczema, really gassy, bad nappies and really stank. Was just so smelly So went onto a soya one and she was fine. We introduced yogurt at about 7/8 months and she was fine. We have gradually brought in other cow's stuff and she is now fine with it. Sometimes I think they need to be that bit older to deal with it, but that's just me!
