Only just seen this!!! Poor little thing, and poor you too!  :'( :'( :'(

With J's sensitivities, I've gotten much much better at cooking food from scratch. Her breakfast this morning will be hot cereal: quinoa and barley. I soak it in the pot the night before, and then when I get up in the morning I just run on the burner and let it cook for an hour while I do my morning stuff (or DH could turn it on too, since he's up earlier). Hot brekkie, and I know every ingredient in it, and since we usually get the grains in bulk, they're not very expensive. Millet is another grain that's not expensive here, and totally gluten-free. Thankfully, J thinks that "porridge" is the best breakfast ever. :D

I think it's neat that you can get wheat-free on prescription over there; I don't think that's an option here in the States. :(

I'll be following along now!  :-* :-* :-* to both of you!

I might be spekaing out of turn here and I don't know enough about thsi subject but ahve the doctors looked at crohn's disease.

A freind of mine just got diagnosed after a very painful time and being hospitalized a few times and her symptoms were quite similar. She was misdiagnosed eralier with allergies, wheat sensitivity as well as IBS!

Ooh, Crohn's is a thought, although that's sometime mis-diagnosed as well. I know someone who has it and she manages it mostly with diet and I *think* maybe some meds as needed, although I haven't seen her recently so that might have changed.

Might be worth investigating.

Poor Abbi, I hope things improve soon. EGID is also a possibility for Abbi's symptoms. The hard thing is that there are quite a few different things it could be with the symptoms that Abbi has. It ranges from a wheat intolerance(or other food intollerance), coeliac disease, EGID and chrones. Of course there will probably be lots of other things that fit the same symptoms also.

Sending lots of hugs
