We took Zara to see a paed GI this week.  She had an endoscopy done, to check for coeliac disease.  We will get the results Tuesday.

Zara has been off dairy since before christmas.  After lengthy explanation and many Q's the paed GI agreed that she si definitely MPI, and also believes she has at the least a gluten intolerance, if the coealic test comes back clear.  We have been instructed to keep the milk out of her diet, and remove wheat (gluten if test results show the need, but otherwise just wheat, not very minor sources of gluten).  We have to leave them out for at least 12 months, and if not grown out of these intolerances when she is 4, then she will likely have them for life.

What on earth am I going to feed this kid? Fruit, rice, veggies, meat....but what else?

There are a lot of Gluten Free flours you can use for baking cakes, cookies, and breads.  There is also rice pasta, crackers, etc.  My son can't have wheat, oats, and barley so I know what you mean.  Once I found the Organic section of the grocery store I realized there are lots of options.  I even get waffles for him made from corn flour, and pancakes too.

I will check out the gluten free part - but some of those still have diary in them :P.

Right now she is having rice bubbles with soy milk for breakfast and she seems to like that, I guess I can try cornflakes too.

Oh yeah, they do.  It's so hard, you basically have to make everything from scratch :/  I'm not sure if I mentioned this website before to you but it has a lot of great recipes.  You just tick off the boxes of food you are avoiding and it comes up with a lot of food.  http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org/recipes.html

You can get some recipes for free, but if you pay the $25 yearly fee you get access to so much more.  I paid, and I really like it!
