I had the extreme pleasure of getting to know Tracy through many, many phone consults over a number of years. I first 'met' her when I was at a very rough time in my life. At 15 months, my dd had NEVER slept through the night or fallen asleep anywhere but on my breast. And had not started solids. We were both a wreck. Literally falling apart. I talked to her every day for 2 weeks straight. She helped my dd and I to get our lives on track. And yes, our situation is mentioned one or twice...okay, many times... in her book, BWSAYP. She once said my dd was one of her most stubborn and challenging babies.
The first time we did pu/pd I had to pick her up and put her down 283 times!!! Doh. But as she says, after 3 days, I put her down and she was ready to try to sleep w/o me holding her. Amazing!!!
I mean this in all honestly when I say that she was a dear friend and mentor. I never 'met' her in real life but she impacted mine tremendously. I miss her. I was fortunate to share some of my happiest news with her.
I can still hear her voice: calling me 'luv,' telling me I was a good 'mum,' not to doubt myself, not to think too much.
Sara, glad to see you here. We spoke on the phone and you made the appointment for our first consult. And one of the later ones, too. Thank you! I'm sure you will wonderfully carry on your mom's legacy.
For all those who are still being touched by Tracy, know that she was an incredible, intuitive woman. The most intuitive person I've ever known. Her philosophies live on in her books and here at babywhisperer. com. You're in good company.
I will forever remember Tracy.
