2 year old Birthday presents

It is still a few months away but I would love to get some idea of what is out there for this age group.  I want toys that dont require batteries and that he can play with for atleast a couple of years.  Thanx for the suggestions.

we just gave aqua-doodles for 2nd birthday and they LOVE them.  they sat for an HOUR playing with them and ask for them all the time now.

Ditto to Deb!  DD and ds love their Mega Bloks Mini blocks.  You can add to the set as you go, we have about 400 pieces now.  The blocks really encourages creativity and imagination.

Hmmmm, not sure if this is a "toy".  We are thinking about a run bike...a bike without pedals.  I have seen little ones on them just cruising; I think our little guy will love it.
