Mobiles and Items in the cot
« on: May 10, 2009, 10:03:19 am »
I was wondering what anyone else thought about mobiles and other cot items. Does it confuse Activity time with Sleep time.My Lo is 8 weeks old and she likes to have A time in her cot. Should I then remove the mobile for S time. I dont want to cofuse her between S and A in her cot.Or is it good to wake up from S time and have somthing to look at.
Should I have A time away from the cot.
Any advice would be appreciated.
She had been getting on EASY pretty well until a couple of dys ago when I thonk she developed Hand, foot and mouth disease. She is therefor a bit of form but I am trying to stick with her routine.
Thanks Marie

I never liked the idea of having mobiles in the crib. I think it does associate their bed to play rather than sleep. I never had one for either of my 2 children and they always found a way to amuse themselves without toys in bed.  This is just my opinion.
Hope your LO feels better soon. Hand foot mouth disease is no fun. Hope she didn't get is at all 3 places especially the mouth, it can be uncomfortable.

We have just a very simple mobile above the cot. Ds likes to try to reach it and look at it when he wakes up, however, we always have it out of his reach. Also i guess the only time he plays in his cot is for 5 mins if that when he wakes, so it has always been a sleep place for him iykwim

we have a mobile but I do not use it as LO is a touchy baby and it was getting him too wound up to sleep! All he has is a lovey and a soft toy. I like the idea of making it like a nest with toys and things but it def would not work for him. becky x
