Strange behavior 16wks
« on: May 22, 2009, 20:07:41 pm »
Today my lo had a great 2.15hr nap in the morning woke up happy, ate, played, then at the hour mark started to be fussy.  I changed her surroundings twice before I put her in her crib with her paci and a lovie I am introducing.  She wasn't swaddled and fell asleep in 5 minutes.  This means her A time was only 1hr25 minutes, usually she can do longer after such a long nap.  She put herself to sleep so if she wakes up before the typical 45 minute jolt was she ot or ut?

It kind of depends on the baby really. 30 min naps are classically OT, 40 min naps can be either and so can 45 min naps although classically UT.

The best way to judge is how happy they are on waking and how well they handle the next A time.

The amount of stimulation can sometimes alter the A time too. So can a bad night.
