It was a great night! I am thinking that they woke around 7:30 this am. Since the weather was crummy, we went to the mall and they both fell asleep in the car on the way there. It was only around 9:45am. I have a funny feeling that although I don't hear them until 7:30-8:00am, they are actually up before that. Why else would they be so sleepy that soon after getting up? They held out until noon again today. But I wonder, (since they fell asleep in the car for a few minutes both yesterday and today) if they could really make it until noon-ish if they didn't catch those few minutes?! I guess I won't know unless I try...

Yeah, it may take some experimentation.  A 15 min nap isn't THAT long so I can't imagine it refuels them all that much, you know?

You were right... again! No falling asleep this am and went down at noon without a problem!

Thanks again for all of your help! Anyone ever tell you you really know what you're talking about?? :)

Ok, another question...

1 nap has been going great- going down at 12 and waking around 3!! Bedtime is about 7ish. Yesterday DS did a 2 hr nap and today he did a 2.5 hr nap. He did hold it together for just under 5 hrs of A time before bed (amazing that a few short weeks ago he was only doing 3-4 hrs).

So my question at what point do I move the noon nap to 12:30? Could he be ready already? That 3 hr nap is amazing :) I don't want to lose it if I can help it! DD is still doing 3 hrs. Not that I'm complaining about 2 - 2.5 I know that is a lot more than many others get.

I'm not sure that moving the nap will make him sleep more.  3 hours is HIGHLY unusual! His body clock may just be a 2-2.5 hour napper.  That's still awesome! So, I think for convenience sake I'd leave the nap here for now unless you see naps fall apart even more.

Glad it's going well!

Ok.. weird day today...

Woke screaming at 1pm (after going down at noon) and would not go back down- At 1:30 I got him up- he was still screaming and flailing- obviously very tired. If I tried to put him back in his crib he just stood up and screamed harder...so I let him get up and play quietly on the floor in my room. At 2:00 I tried to put him back in his crib- protested a tad but fell asleep... for about an hour- I just heard him cry again- I'll get him up "for real" this time. What do you think? This is so out of character.

15 months

I was thinking teeth, maybe molars- But I see no sign-not to say they are not on the way ;) My gut says it was pain. He went to sleep very nicely at 7:15... Woke him at 8 this am!!!! Went down at about 12:15, didn't hear him, but i'm sure he was asleep within a few minutes. It is now 10 min to 2... We'll see how long he goes! Already better than yesterday! I think I need to just relax and no that there are going to be some "weird" days!

funny... notice we never talk about DD?!?  :P

Ok.. it's 2pm and I hear him crying. It was just under a 2 hr nap- But I think maybe he woke because of the thunder... He's kind of moaning, so I'm going to leave him and see what he does...

escalated to screaming bloody murder- He's doing the back arching, won't take his binky, flailing thing... Has got to be tired still, right? I gave him a hug some tylenol and walked out... I still hear him in there. He goes from more of a mantra cry (although, I never really "got" that) to a scream and back... and so on and so on... He sure sounds like he is in pain- He usually wakes so happy...

Teeth may be making their way in.  And just under 2 hour nap is excellent in most houses! So, I'd probably medicate and let him get up for the day.  He may just need a slightly earlier bedtime than sis.

Yes, relax! You've got SUCH a sweet sleep situation going on! There are definitely going to be 'odd' days, and  until things happen for a week straight I really wouldn't sweat it.

Hey Becky.... So I am need of some more advise...

We were away last week and our nice schedule went right down the drain! Between, teeth, colds, and being in a "strange" place, things completely feel apart! We've only been home a few days and DD seems to have gotten back into her "groove". DS (imagine that!) Is not doing quite as well. They both were waking super early and were crazy OT- so all of the work to get to one nap went away, as we were back on 2 naps for a little over a week. Ugh! The problem now is that we are back on our one nap schedule, but DS wakes after 1.5 hrs- He is tired when he wakes. Sometimes I can get him resettled, sometimes not. When he doesn't he is a bear late in the day- but doesn't seem to go down at an earlier hour- I think he is in a bad OT cycle. Any suggestions?

Can you give him an earlier nap?

Do you mean try a short nap earlier and then put him down again (like we did before)? I have been putting them down at noon (after they wake for the day around 7:30ish).
