Treating / Preventing carpet burn on crawling knees
« on: May 18, 2009, 09:09:26 am »
Any tips?  DS's poor little knees are taking a beating. Been rubbing Sudocrem on them  (when I can catch him AND get him to be still for more than 9 seconds  ::) ) but it's not doing much.

My own are taking a fair beating too, dry, itchy, scabby from crawling with him, and they got so bad I was up for a week all night scratching.  Used (his) Epaderm on them 3x per day for a week or two and cleared a lot of it up, but it takes so long to get it rubbed in that I've had no luck in getting it ON to him!   :-\

Any other tips, tricks, advice, etc?

Long pants?  My DS2 only started crawling once the weather got cold enough for long pants. I've heard you can also get knee pads for crawlers!

Cut the feet off a couple of your socks.  Pull the cuffs up over his knees.
When you're soaring through the air, I'll be your solid ground.  Take every chance you dare.  I'll still be there when you come back down.

Legwarmers! (seriously, they make them just for babies...I bought Spencer 2 pairs so her legs won't get cold or worn out on our cement basement floor) They stay on her chubby legs really well too. For some reason the way she scoots around makes her pants fall down, but not the legwarmers.
