help with EASY for 10-month old
« on: June 19, 2009, 21:24:36 pm »
Hi,

I used to have my son on a 4-hr easy, but as he's gotten older it is just not working for us. I can't seem to get him to take naps at consistent times any more, and his naps are now much shorter than before. He has gone from taking two 1.5 hr naps to sometimes only two 45-min naps or even three 30-min naps. Can anyone give me some advice? Do you think maybe I should be trying to push him to do only one long nap at mid-day?

He typically wakes up at 5:30am for the day. His bedtime is 7:30pm or 8pm. He is usually up once at night but I don't feed him at that time.

Thanks!

Oh, and also more info if this is helpful - he is now fighting me on all of his naps (crying, standing up in his crib) and really refusing to go down easily. He used to go down pretty easily by himself with me out of the room. I'm getting pretty frustrated.

Can you post what your day looks like so we can take a look.  Sounds like he's definitely ready to increase his A time!  At this age some parents find limiting day sleep to one long nap and one shorter nap more helpful.  These links may give you some info, too!  http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=145285.0  http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=41952.0
