Hi hun, we struggled too as my lo was MSPI.

We gave weetabix a lot lol with her special milk.  Also we did breakfasts of Soy yoghurts when she seemed to be able to tolerate soy, so soy yoghurt with mixed berries in and dried fruit, that kind of thing. Can your lo tolerate soy?  Also mashed up banana with the weetabix plus other fruits. We loved weetabix to stabilise her bowel (she has always had a funny tummy)  I did find a few baby cereals that were milk free, but not many as you said.

Sorry to not have any more ideas for you, just a couple I remember, its been so long since dd was that age :) x

If you have an Organic store or Organic section of your grocery store I'd check there too.  I was able to find baby cereal there that did not contain dairy/soy.

You can use regular oatmeal, doesn't need to be baby oatmeal. Just buy a bag of plain rolled oats and cook from directions on the bag.

We struggled with the same with our little boy. While I don't recall the age we started them, he ate a log eggs for breakfast as he could tollerate them. Breakfast, though, was a big struggle for me.

What are you using for milk?  Can you make oatmeal using dry oatmeal and lactose free milk?

I have been lactose intolerant most of my life.

Many lactose intolerant people can eat yogurt.  Depends on the person.  I am not one of them.

Keep in mind, what your lo can tolerate now might be something they cannot tolerate later.  Often depends how much dairy they have in their diet in a particular day or week.

We use Rice Dream Rice Milk exclusively in our house (unless a recipe really needs milk or cream). Since the protein (as opposed to the sugar [lactose]) is the issue for my DS, we don't use lactose free milk.

Okay.

I remember really liking their ice cream, but it has been years and years since I have tried it.

Cereal Bars Recipe:

Ingredients:
5 cups crispy rice cereal (see Head Note)
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup oat bran
½ cup toasted wheat germ
½ t. salt
2/3 cup chopped dates
½ cup chopped dried apricots
½ cup raisins
1/3 cup dried cranberries or blueberries
½ cup raw sesame seeds
½ cup raw sunflower seeds
1 cup honey
¾ cup maple syrup
1 ½ cups natural unsalted peanut butter
1 cup soymilk powder
2 t. vanilla extract

Preparation:
1. Grease one 9” x 13” casserole dish with dairy-free soy margarine or oil and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the crispy rice cereal, rolled oats, oat bran, toasted wheat germ and salt. Mix in the dates, apricots, raisins, cranberries, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds until evenly distributed. Set aside.

2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, maple syrup, sugar and peanut butter, stirring well with a wooden spoon. Cook until the mixture reaches a low boil and begins to bubble, about 3 minutes. Stir in the soymilk powder and vanilla extract until well combined.

3. Pour the peanut butter mixture over the dry ingredients, mixing well until the mixture is consistent throughout. Press into the prepared pans and using a sharp knife, cut into bars but leave the mixture in the pans. Place the pans on wire cooling racks to cool completely before removing from the pans and serving.

You can make pancakes using your LO's lactose free milk instead of regular milk.  By this age he is probably able to eat weetabix or shredded wheat or cheerios (dry or with his milk on them).

Fruit, fruit, fruit!  We did fruit only breakfasts for months.

Eggs - well scrambled or as an omelette and cut into strips as finger food.

Toast with dairy free spread.

Millet makes nice porridge, make according to package instructions and mush a banana or some pureed apricots in with it.

HTH!
