Appropriate length of A time?
« on: June 22, 2009, 09:03:03 am »
My LO is 7 months this coming weekend and I am just wondering what an appropriate amount of A time is for her? Sometimes she shows tired signs at 1 hr 15 - 30mins and other times she can go 2 hrs 15-30mins.  Our days sleeps have been a bit erratic since she has been teething (3rd tooth just arrived and it looks as though the 4th is hot on it's heels), so we haven't been very consistent in terms of length of day sleeps.  Can anyone give me a rough guide? Thanks.

I have the same question but for my 6 week old son Sawyer.  I didn't see a link to go to or click on.  Sometimes Sawyer's awake for 10 minutes after feeding (at night! Yeah!)  and other times he can bee awake hours.  I figured that he's over stimulated & get hysterical at that point.  WE're doing better now, but how many times & about how long should that little guy be up?

Thanks!  One more quick question - are the estimated times total for that day or for each A in the EASY pattern?  So should Sawyer be getting 60 plus min or so each cycle or spread out over the course of the day?

Actually - I think I know the answer to that one - it's about 60 min per A.  I'm sleepy . . .imagine that.  :)
So my real question would be Should I work to keep him awake during the day longer - without OT or over stimulating him too much??  If I should try to keep him awake longer, how do I do that?
:)

How long does he stay awake before OT/OS?  These are just guidelines... EASY is all about following your lo's cues.

I'm slow on the clues.  Sometimes he seems to give me everything - yawns, wide-eyed happy looks, suckling.  I'm getting better & keeping track of the EASY has helped a ton!  I'm feeling more in control of the situation everyday! Well - some days. . . but it looks like once Sawyer gets over the 1:15 mark that he gets ot/os.
Where can I find a list of the abbreviations used on the site?
Thanks for your help!

Feel free to start a thread over on the EASY board to talk more about your routine.   :-*
