16 week old - forcing new A times or let it happen?
« on: June 22, 2009, 14:27:50 pm »
Hi there, my lo is now 16 weeks, almost 4 months.  he is still having A times of 1hour 30 mins, and for the past few days he's been having 1,5 hour naps In the morning.  Not for the rest of the day though, although I do get him back to sleep pretty consistently.
Should I start making his A times longer, or should I just follow his lead and let it happen gradually?  His eating every 3,5 to 4 hours at the moment.

Follow his lead  :). As the naps start to get shorter slowly increase the A times. The feeds will space naturally this way.

If you 'force' a 2 hr A time then your lo is likely to get OT and start short napping.

The 4 mth is the mark where most babies start to transition to 4hrly EASY - a lot take a little longer.
