We are getting back on track after moving and getting really off on Alannah's naps and sleeping.
Right now I am just dealing with day naps and hoping nights improve as the days get more consistent and back on track.
She will be 7 months next week but on the smaller end of the scale - about 13 1/2 pounds. We had been shooting for an A time of around 2 hours, but when I started "re-training" I went back to about 90 minutes - it worked good for about a week. Now I am fighting 45 minute naps, she is going down okay, not great - needs some patting and shushing to get there but it's an improvement over where we were!
I got on here to look around and now I am wondering if our A time is just way too short? Should we be closer to 2 1/2-3 hours? Maybe we needed the shorter times to get over an overtired baby thing?
I don't want to get her overtired again but I would like 90 min-2 hours naps!
We just started solids last week and so far she's had a little rice cereal and avocado maybe once a day, every other day. I am going to increase to every day this week.
She does good eating every 4 hours but with the shorter A times, we have been closer to a 3 hour EAS routine lately. Sometimes I wait 30-45 minutes after she wakes to get her closer to the 4 hour mark, she nurses better 4 hours apart but if she has woken up she usually thinks she needs to nurse.
Our day kinda looks like this -
Wake - 6-7 am (getting better at closer to 7!)
Nurse and A time till nap
S - 8:30 ish (90 min after waking) -
Nurse when she wakes, usually around 10
11:30/12 Nap - Ideally this would be 2 hours, at least but usually it is 45-60 minutes
Another nap about 2 hours after she wakes from this nap, often fights this nap and rarely is it longer then an hour.
Bedtime is between 7-8 depending on what the afternoon naps were.
Any thoughts?
