Too early to drop bottle?
« on: June 28, 2009, 13:23:38 pm »
 Hi Folks!

DS has been on solids for nearly a month now which is going ok. During the last week he has shown little to no interest in his 11am bottle. Is it too early to drop it? He will be 7mos in a week or so.

We are also currently weaning the df. We are down to 4oz at 9pm and its going well. Should I wait until the df is fully weaned and then see of he has more interest in that bottle? It seems awfully early to be dropping a bottle during the day but he has never really been that interested in milk. For lunch I always try to incorporate dairy to make up for the 'lost' oz's. His milk intake has dropped significantly since starting solids, HV says not to worry as long as he's having 20oz a day which he has been, but only just!

Hi Emma  :-*

Personally I would get rid of the DF first and then consider dropping the bottle.

My DD dropped to 3 bottles during the day at around 8 months.

How much solid food is DS taking?  Have you tried offering less breakfast to see if he will take more milk?
