Fun things to do during school holidays
« on: June 30, 2009, 03:43:06 am »
Our usual activities of Prep program and play group is on hold during the school holidays, and we've got some things set up, but am really at a loss as to what to do with the kids on free days! The local library has a magician performing, we are seeing cousins, but not sure what else.  All the shopping centre activities are lame!

Some things don't work well with DS who is not yet walking.

What do you do for fun?

Childrens museums are fun and usually have a section for the littler ones.  Anything outdoors, parks, going for a walk.  bike riding, you can get a trycycle for the little one with a handle for you to push, they have some with straps so she wont fall out.  swimming is always fun.

Charmaine, we got some plastic pants from Pumpkin patch for DS so he can crawl around outside without getting too filthy. It makes life a lot easier getting outside. We plan on going to the Botanic Gardens and parks quite a bit - weather permitting. A couple of playdates with his childcare friends who he hasn't seen for a while, too. Musuems often have organised activities for kids during the school holidays, too.

We are going whalewatching tomorrow!

thanks guys,

whalewatching sounds awesome!

I've got the plastic pants too, but the ground here is so very cold and wet now.   :-\
