Howdee,
My 6mo was a pretty good night sleeper and poor daytime napper until about four weeks ago. I have worked hard to get his day sleeps right by being there for him at the 35-45-minute mark of his sleep to put my hands on him when he roused at that natural stirring time. He is now sleeping good solid blocks of between one-and-a-half and two-and-a-half hour sleeps during the day without any intervention by me. But his nights are now another story. He is waking about every hour-and-a-half. Sometimes he will go down at 7.30pm and perhaps sleep til 11pm or 12pm then every hour-and-a-half or so after that. I am still breastfeeding and I do admit to giving him boob when he wakes in the night because I also have a two-year-old boy who we don't want to wake with screams from the baby. we started solids about five weeks ago and he can't get enough but when he wakes in the night he squirms a lot and arches his back. He was taking medication for reflux and lactose intolerance but we believed he was over these. Have started his reflux medication again in last two days to see if we took him off them too early.
His day sort of looks like this:
Wake then breastfeed: 6.30am
Solids: 7.15am
Activity
Nap: 8.15am
Wake: 10-10.30am
Breastfeed
Activity
Solids: midday
Nap: 1.30pm-3.30pm
Breastfeed
Activity
Sometimes needs another little half hour nap about 5pm
Solids: 6pm
Bath 7pm
Breastfeed
Sleep 7.30pm
Sleeps til 9.30 (or about 11pm if lucky), then about every one and half hours.
Not sure how to stop these night wakings without waking up my other little boy.
Hope someone can help.
Cheers
