kittycase---I have yet to find an AP that works :(  I took LO out in the baby bjorn the other night b/c he was soooooooo overtired.  I walked for about 45 minutes before he'd fall asleep, and then slept 30 minutes.  I have tried nursing to sleep which doesn't really work since I have a forceful letdown and he tends to gulp a ton and gets a lot of wind, hence gas, which makes it worse.  Reflux---well, a lot of the symptoms of overactive letdown are the same symptoms as reflux, so hard to know.  But he is on Zantac right now, but it's not really doing much?

He just seems unable to settle.

I know what you mean about it controlling EVERYTHING.  That's how I feel it is right now.  My 3 year old is stuck at home, we don't go to the park anymore like we used to, b/c if we go out, LO gets overtired b/c of no sleep.  I find that the SHORTER the A time, the better.  Like even 35-40 minutes and he usually sleeps better, so that REALLY limits what we can do.

I am trying to really be consistent with the feeding every 2.5-3hrs.  I've been doing that for awhile now.

Sometimes if he is super tired, holding him tight and bouncing him and swaying at the same time can get him to fall asleep after awhile, but will only sleep a max of 30 minutes that way.

So after asking you if reflux was ruled out...I totally didn't even think about it for my lo.  Then yesterday it clicked.  She hasn't been eating as much lately (which I thought was caused by the short naps)...but then I noticed that she tried to eat more and cried.  And that's when I was like oh no...SHE might have silent reflux!  DD#2 had it and it started to show symptoms at 3 weeks...which is how old lo is.  So off to the dr. I go today.  I sure hope this is what it is since it would mean there is a solution.

I'm not sure Lori...I'm going to think more and see if anything comes to me that might help you out.  No eating problems?  No problems with loose or bloody stools?

He just seems "squirmy" all the time when he is awake.  Not really "still" so I wonder if something is bugging him that can't help him "settle".  We try gas drops, burping him well, but he's always like that, so not sure

Well I'm just beyond exhausted and we haven't even seen the dr. yet.  We were sent to Urgent Care since our dr. had a full day of appointments already.  Well the Urgent Care said they were uncomfortable seeing a baby so young and that I should check back to try and get an apt. w/my ped.  WHAT?  How can an Urgent Care be an Urgent Care w/out being competent enough to handle an infant??? Sorry a bit of a rant there. So after all that mess and sitting in the waiting room..w/all three kids by myself for oh about 3hours.  I convinced our ped. to get her an apt. today...in an hour. So still waiting on the prognosis.

Squirmy...hmmm...still thinking on it.  How long has lo been on Zantac? Squirmy all day...is there ever a time where he's not?  Does it start while eating and continue for a while after or just all the time if he's eaten or not?  Does he burp well for you?  So he has probs both getting to sleep and staying asleep right? How is he sleeping at night?
