Question about GW
« on: July 14, 2009, 03:00:21 am »
Hello,

I have been doing GW with my very spirited/easy OT/terrible sleeper since birth 23 mo DS for about a month now and I am finally out of this room :-).

But DS has invited a few new fun games at bed time that are driving me nuts.

1) Jump on the bed till I get worried he is going to hurt himself. So then I have to go in andd make him lie down. As soon as I enter the room he grins and lies down. The minute I leave the room he is on his feet.

2) Shake the safety rail until it becomes loose. Then I go in and tighten the straps and then he shakes it again after about 10 min

3) Potty - sometimes he does not have a BM at night. So when he is in bed and says potty I don't know if he is serious or kidding. Sometimes he does want to go potty so I cannot say no. Usually after about 2 fake pottys I say no.

4) I want water !!! I think I finally figured this one out - I give him a sippy cup to bed

5) One more huggie/kiss/song - and he looks so sweet when he makes this request it breaks my heart and I usually give in - AP I know but its really hard to say no :-(

... I am sure there are more but you get the general picture.

Any suggestions? Please ---- I have been sitting outside his room for the last 1.5 hrs and he just started singing his ABCs --.... aaahhhh

HI- sounds like your LO is enjoying his bedtime stalling antics- starts early, yes?

So, your LO is 23 mos old? Can you post his schedule for wakings, naps, etc...wondering if he's OT or UT...
My LO is now stalling too, the potty one drives me bonkers. I've starting keeping a little potty in his room, taking him out of bed for the first 2 requests, but keeping lights low, if nothing is produced in 2 attempts I tell him we'll try again in the morning...He is still in dipes at night.
