4mo Waking Before and After Dream Feed - Is this OK?
« on: July 18, 2009, 04:20:17 am »
For the past month or so, my 4 mo DS wakes up during his dream feed.  He usually wakes up when we pick him up from his crib (he's fast asleep when we get him), falls back asleep while taking a bottle of EBM, then wakes up again when we put him back down in his crib.  He falls back asleep very easily without any fussing (although he grunts a lot and I worry that he needs to burp or is uncomfortable from the full bottle of milk).  But I worry that it will be more difficult to drop the dream feed when he goes on solids because his body will be accustomed to waking at 11pm.  Am I inadvertently messing up his sleep pattern? Has anyone else had this issue?  We try to keep the room nice and dark and we don't talk, but he'll wake up the second my DH takes the bottle out of his mouth...

Our nearly 7 mth old has been waking for the DF for ages and the same way as your LO. We haven't worried about it and are just weaning at the mo so hope it hasn't become a habit!! An expert will be along soom I'm sure xxxxx

my baby is almost 5 months and he is waking just before the dream feed so we end up doing the feed early and I can't figure out why he is waking.  i wonder the same things??  Hopefully someone can give us some answers but you are not alone...
