wakes up screaming
« on: August 18, 2009, 09:58:43 am »
My first born is 16 months old. We have lately had many changes in our lovely home: I gave birth to another baby boy, and my entire family was staying here with us to help out and enjoy both kids (they all live abroad).
this last week, my first born has been waking up from naps, and also once around midnight, screaming like crazy. nothing seems to calm him down and this would go on for up to 15 minutes straight.
We know that he's teething as well, but we're really not sure anymore if it's that, or something else.

I really want to help him out (and help out my ears as well honestly) but i just don't know what to do   ???

It absolutely could be teething - are you giving him anything for pain?  It also could be adjustment to all the changes in the home and you may need to just ride it out.  What's his routine like during the day?  What do you do when he wakes up screaming?

hang in there!

Hugs, I agree with Michelle- maybe try teething meds...does sound like your house has been busy.
Huge hugs...

it doesnt really seem like the meds help. i'm thinking it might be bad dreams or even night terror. it kinda seems as if he doesnt recognize us when we approach him, or it just doesnt seem to comfort him anyways...
