So he went to bed last night around 730 and woke up at 630, So that's better!  We'll see how today goes.  It's almost 1030am now and he seems to be getting a little sleepy, but I'm going to try and stretch him to 1130, so he can have lunch before his nap.  This is when I find it tough, do I try and get him to have a catnap around 4 if he wakes up after 1 1/2 and if he sleeps for 2 hours, then no catnap???  We'll see how the day goes.

That's a great night!  YAY!!  If 2 hrs is about what he needs in the day, then if his am nap is 1.5 hrs, yes, I'd try for a late pm catnap for 30 min.  If he doesn't take it, I'd put him to bed 30 min early.  If he sleeps 2 hrs and seems fine in the afternoon - go with normal bedtime, if he seems tired, you can still try the pm catnap or early bedtime - just see how he's doing.

So he went down around 11 15 for a nap but woke at 12 45. So I'll try a catnap again this afternoon at 330ish, but if he won't go that leaves for a long A time before bed, so hopefully he'll go for it!

remember - you can do early bedtime if he doesn't take that catnap - that was always a life saver for us - just 30 min early seemed to do the trick for Abby.

So, we've been having some great improvements!  The last couple days/nights he's had the following schedule
wake 7/730 am ( Finally!!!)
Catnap 1045
Wakes 11 15
lunch 12
sleep 2/230
wakes 4.
bed time 730 (sometime 8 if he sleeps from 230-430)
So it's a great improvement, I just hope it last.  It's weird but we had to switch the long nap/cat nap times, because we were going out, and it seems better except that he will fight one of the naps for a while, but finally settles and goes to sleep.  How will I know when to shorten the catnap and make the long nap earlier? should I let this schedule settle for a while or should I try and shorten the catnap and bring the second nap earlier?  Even though he's sleeping later in the morning he still seems pretty tired by 1045, so I'm worried if I try and extend this time or shorten the nap he may get overtired, but is he fighting the second nap because he's UT. Sorry for all the questions, I hope this makes sense.

YAY for progress!!!  Since this routine is working for now, I wouldn't change a thing!  When he starts to fight that catnap, then I'd push it out a bit later (only 15 min or so).  Eventually, you'll just cut it out and move the pm nap earlier.  I know some mums push it out and cut it to 20 min before they get rid of it altogether.  Soooooooo glad the later mornings are back :)

So he's starting to fight the early am nap, not taking it until after 11, which means he fights his pm nap as well, and sometimes wont go down until 3, which then messes up that nap and he'll only sleep for 1 hour to maybe 1 1/2.  And this morning he was up at 6 30 so I think he's getting ot again, and possibly starting to teeth again!  So what should I try? One nap? Later am nap, and maybe a catnap in the afternoon?  He's also super grumpy this morning as well, but wont sleep.

If he's not going down for his am nap til after 11 and his pm nap til 3, then I'm guessing that's causing the EW - that long, late pm nap.  So I'd cut the am nap and bring the pm nap much earlier (say do it at 11:30/12) and let him sleep.  Then if he seems like he can't make it til bedtime, I'd offer a pm catnap (late) or do early bedtime.

We've had another ew, but he had a babysitter all day yesterday, and she let him have an extra catnap in the morning plus a shorter afternoon nap, so he was completely messed up with his sleeping and went to bed at the normal time, but was up at 530am!  I think he's getting a cold too.  I think I'll see if he'll take an early cat nap today (around 930) and his longer nap around 130/2 to get him back on track, and if he sleeps better tonight/tomorrow morning I'll try the one nap at 11 30/12. I think I'm getting his cold too, so today should be lots of fun!lol.

{{{{hugs}}}} on the colds - that's no fun....he may need a bit more sleep and/or shorter A times if he's feeling poorly, so just see how he's doing in terms of switching things around.

So I think it was teething that was causing his runny nose.  I wish these darn molars would just come in!  As for his sleeping, the day he woke at 530 we did the 2 naps, his first I let him sleep for 30min and woke him up then he went down for an afternoon nap and only slept about 45min, but we put him to bed early and he woke up at 530, but went back to sleep without me going in, then woke at 715.  So today we're trying the one nap, he went down at 12 30, but woke up at 2, so only 1 1/2.  I'm hoping his naps will start to get longer!  I'm sure he'll be in bed by 7 tonight and we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Most bubs do adjust to only one nap and lengthen their nap - so here's to hoping on that one!  And well done with a wee bit early bedtime, that should help with any potential OT.  {{{{hugs}}}} on teething - that completely messes up sleep.  yuck.

So he's doing ok on one nap, but I'm still hoping they get a bit longer, so far he only naps for about 1 1/2.  His sleeping has been pretty good at night 7 15pm - 7/730am.  His molars are still coming in!!!  The two bottom ones are almost through, so hopefully we'll have a bit of a break before the top ones come in, and see if his napping regulates a bit.  We're going camping this weekend, so we'll see what affect that has on his sleeping!

Sorry I've been away - we've moved across the country, so I've been off line for awhile.  How are things going?  Has his nap lengthened any?  Does he seem ok on the amount of sleep he's getting now?

So he is definetly getting used to the one nap a day.  He very rarely takes an early nap and seems to be doing pretty good.  He has his nap around 1 (still varied length but generally 1 1/2 to 2 hours.)  Then he's in bed by 7 15 ish/ 730 depending on his morning nap.  The last to nights (early morning) I can hear him awake, but he only whines a little the talks and plans for almost an hour then falls back to sleep again. the first time he woke up around 5am - 545ish, then slept til 8.  Then this morning I heard him around 2am til 3, then he slept til 7am.  Not sure why, his bottom molars are in so I'm wondering if it's his top molars.  He doesn't cry for me just a few loud whines the talking and playing so I haven't gone in.  He's going down great for his naps and bedtime, no rocking no sitting in his room just a good night kiss and lights out.
Hope your move went as smoothly as a move can go! :-)
