We've had a really rough time and I decided just to go cold turkey and although I don't wanna tempt fate... Mon we had 1.5hr nap, tues 2hr nap and wed 1hr 20mins this is the most day sleep DS has had for weeks!  It is hard because they do look so tired but give it a go and no matter what stick to it for a week...I have to keep telling myself that!

The short morning nap and getting A time right just wasn't working for us either.  We get bad NWs with OT but I figured something had to give.

let us know how you get on.

Good Luck!

ok need some advice for tonight. i knew todays naps would be bad cos i had an appointment first thing across town so i knew she would fall asleep in the car so 1 nap would go out of the window! But instead of 1 nap in the car she has taken 2..1 on the way there and 1 on the way back.now im unsure what to do.

she woke at 5am this morning so im sure she is OT cos the wakings are getting earlier now!!
today has been this;
9.15-9.50
12.30-12.55
this is another reason im thinking OT cos she normally wouldnt sleep so close together!

so,wwyd now? go for a mega early bedtime? if so what time do you think? or, try and get some kind of catnap about 4? i will only gt this in the car and cant be sure that she will def sleep. mmm,im so unsure of the best thing to do.maybe the CN would help not to get an EW but then who knows!

I'd go for 20 mins catnap, if she refuses that then do a 5.45 bedtime to sleep for 6.

How does she do on OT?  E isn't quite as sensitive to it as some, so if she was doing what D is doing I might be tempted to say - one nap and that's it.  Put her down at 12, bedtime at 6/6.30 and fight through until that sticks.  As Anna says, they do tend to extend their nap once they only have one, and the problem at the moment might be that she is just a bit confused as to what she is meant to be doing.

(((hugs)))  Hope she's not a PITA for you today.

Agree with PP, also to say that that wasn't SUCH a bad night, she did have 11 hrs sleep! I'd do one nap at 11.30, extend it if you can, and stick with it for a few days.
