Travelling by car - My baby HATES the car seat!

We are using our Maxi Cosi which DD1 used, and like DD1, DD2 (now 7 wks) screams and hates it!! I'm wondering if it's our particular seat, and am so tempted to buy a new one but unsure which one to get... and it may just be ALL car seats DD2 hates.

Any advice, similar stories??

Could you hire one from somewhere? to trial or borrow from a friend first?

It's a long shot Ali, but have you lifted the cover to see if the foam cushioning goes all the way down to the bottom? Many are missing the lower back section of foam - our chiro told us and once we put some in, J was soooo much happier.

keri - the foam is there, and the seat seems well padded.

Today - she actually slept in it! and I wheeled her around in the car seat (which attaches to my Quinny frame) and she was actually.. ok! Maybe she knows her momma ain't too happy with her ;)

So hopefully i've saved some $ by not buying a car seat. And, going to switch off the front passenger airbag so I can put her next to me when i drive. Checked the maxi-cosi website and they said for the make of my car, I can do that and it's still safe.
