EASY for long am/short pm nap
« on: September 18, 2009, 14:32:34 pm »
My DD is 10.5months old and we have tired the short am/long pm nap to eliminate EWs, but after trying for 15days, her EWs got worse.  Anyhow, we are now on day two with long am /short pm nap and if this is a success, I don't know if I should bump her 2pm bottle or leave it as is when her first nap is closer to 11am.  I am hoping she will drop it by then. I was thinking of giving her a top up feed before her am nap.

here is our EASY at the moment
wake 7(good days)
E 7:15 6oz
Solids 9pm
A 7-10:30am
nap 1 10:30-12/12:30pm
Solids 12/12:30pm
Bottle 2pm 5oz
nap 2 3:30-4:30pm
Solids 5pm
bottle 7pm
bed 7:30
asleep 7:40

Sorry Sabrina - I don't think I understand the question.

Do you mean give the bottle at 11am? She wouldn't take it then anyway would she? I mean that is why you dropped to 3 bottles!

I do a long am/ short pm and I give a snack 20 mins before the morning nap. A big one if I need to bridge him through 'lunchtime'.

No problem Liz.  What kind of snacks do you give before the am nap? I was wondering if I should leave her 2pm bottle when she begins to nap from 11-1pm. I don't want to drop this bottle because her milk intake is not high.  I just don't know where to put the bottle once her nap begins to move later-should I split it before her am and pm nap or give it to before her am nap, or leave it as is?

I'd leave it I think. It is likely that she will be dropping to 2 bottles by the time it is a genuine issue.

Jacob wouldn't have milk at 11am at all anyway though - not even half an oz.

For snacks - it depends what I am trying to do. If the nap is 10.30am or so I just give some raisins or rice cakes or a baby biscuit and a drink of juice. If it is an 11.30am nap on a one nap day I might give a few sandwiches or s whole banana. Basically half his lunch!!
