Yay for you too!
She cried for under 5 min each time. It takes a few minutes of crying before my monitor turns on. So by the time I heard her, got up, went to the bathroom and headed for her room she had stopped crying before I reached her door each time.
Hard to keep up with the A time. They change so fast and you have to stay ahead of them if you want them to sleep well. I remember this with dd1 but she was always on the high end of sleep needs and took forever to get to 2 hours A time and dd2 is the opposite I think.
Oh I hope it's not a one off!!

We had another good night last night.  Asleep by 7:50.  WOke up at 11:05 fussing.  Left him as it never really "escalated" and he was asleep again by 11:15.  Woke up at 3:00 to eat and then back to bed.  So pretty good!  I feel bad leaving him to fuss though, b/c he is swaddled again fully (we had been leaving 1 arm out, but recently went back to full swaddle).  With one arm out, he tends to rub his face/his head as "soothing" techniques and can go back to sleep, but fully swaddled he can't do that, so I feel bad just for leaving him

Congrats to both of you ladies!!  Woohoo!!  I'm so happy for both of your MAJOR breakthroughs :)

Lori--it looks like the increased A times and guiding him closer towards the 4h EASY have really made a big difference!

I typed a post but lost it

we had another great night lAst night. Asleep by 6:30  awake at 9:30 and I ler her fuss but did have to go in to resettle her. Then woke at4 but resettled herself and slept through to 6:45! No night feeds!!
But naps today have not been good. She kind of half fell asleep while I was giving her her morning feed and I had to wake her up after it. And I think this threw everything off. What shoUld I do when this happens?  Basically she was awake at 6:45 and I fed her then fell asleep when feeding but fully awake again at 7:20. Then I put her down for her nap at 8:50 (2h5min from initial wakeup) but she did not fall Asleep until 9:10 and slept 45 min to 9:55. She woke up happy and sucked her thumb in the bed for another 45 min (only know this because we have a video monitor and I was watching she did not make a peep),  then I got her up. Fed at 10:30, tried for next nap at 11:45 (1:50 A time), ept another 45 min and woke not happy but is not going back down easily

Lori glad you had another great night  ;D

Oh I HATE when the mornings can messed up, b/c then I feel I'm at a loss for the rest of the day.  How long did she sleep for after her feeding?  I think I almost would have started A time from when she woke up fully at 7:20, but I guess it depends on how long she fell asleep for.

When Tanner woke at 3:00, I was so hoping he "might" resettle, but he really started escalating in his cries, so I just ended up feeding him and he ate a ton.

Hope your day gets better and she goes down for a nap soon!

rest of the day went ok but i did have to resort to taking her for a walk in the carrier in the afternoon just to make her sleep for longer than 45 min.  didn't want her to be ot for thanksgiving dinner.
last night only woke once and i fed her at 3 then she slept until morning.  but i don't really know when she woke up this morning because i think she just laid there a while until i looked at the monitor after i woke up and realised she was awake.  so hard to judge A times when they do this!

I know!  DS woke up at 6, but talked for 5 minutes and then didn't hear him anymore.  I assumed he went back to sleep.  Heard him again at 6:55, so started A time from then, but we had our first 35 min nap for 1st nap, that we've had in awhile, so I'm wondering if he was awake that whole time, or at least party of it?

How has it been going?  We had a decent nap day today, but went to bed at 7:25, and woke up at 35 min??  Umm, not a nap, buddy!  Hope it's not indicative of how our night will be...

Hi ladies!  Sorry that I've been MIA here...how are things going???

Lori--I hate those nap-like waking after bedtime.  Was he possibly OT or OS (or both) when he went to bed?  I really, really hope that it wasn't indicative of the night to follow.

my adorable lo defies all logic!  no wonder i can't figure her out!

in the last week she has sttn twice where she has woken up and i have heard her but she has gone back to sleep without any intervention from me, then another couple nights where she has done very well and woken up only once for a feed and straight back to sleep, and then on a very good nap day she was up a whole lot and then yesterday on a very mixed up day she sttn and i didn't hear a peep all night!

i'm going to post a few days and you can tell me what you think.  dh thinks i should stop trying to interpret every move and just go with the flow since her nights have been pretty good over the last week regardless of her day.

sunday:
7:20 E
9:30-11 s
11E
1:15-1:50 S
on and off S until 3
3 E
4:15-4:55 S
6E
6:30 bed
9:30 awake and shh pat back to sleep

slept through the rest of the night but did wake up at 2 and 4 and fussed a bit but put herself back to sleep without me

tuesday:
6:45 E
8:50-10:30 S
10:30 E
12:45-1:20 S
1:35-2:50 S
2:50 E
4:50-5:30 S
6:40 E
7 bed
11:30 awake
12 awake
3 E

wednesday:
6:20 E
8:15-9 S
10:20 E (we were out and it was noisy and she didn't take a full feed here)
10:50-11:30 S
1 E (fed her early due to poor feed earlier and she seemed hungry, also wanted her to do a long nap and not wake due to hunger)
1:20-3 S
3 E (now all feeds are mixed up)
5:30-6 S (very long A but took a long time to fall asleep)
7 E
7:30 bed

long day but got 4 naps in...3 were short

sttn all night no wake ups and i didn't hear anything at all  :o :o :o :o  had to wake her in the morning because we have music class and i wanted her to have a nap before we left for it.

so what do you make of this?  i can't make sense of it!  all in all her nights have been way better the last week since moving to a 4 hour routine but still most of her naps are short and of those that are long most of the time i actually go in at 45 min and shh back to sleep.

but i am feeling pretty good today due to a good rest  :D

One thing really jumped out at me, if you look at the first A times, Sun and Tues were both slightly over 2hr and she took a good nap. Weds was slightly under 2hr and she took a 45min nap, UT I would assume. However, the 2hr 15min A time following those 2 naps looks like it may have been too much. She looks like she's SOOOO touchy that just 10min makes a difference to her. The reason I think those 2 naps were OT and not UT is because she was trying to fall back to sleep on day one and on day two she resettled after just 15min. This makes me wonder if her A times drop as the day goes on instead of increase? However, she definitely seems to be on the low end of sleep needs.

Perhaps go with 2hr 10min, then 2hr and see if her PM nap is any better. Glad to hear the nights are better at any rate! :)

Brenda, my little one defies all logic too, lol.  Whenever I try to figure something out, he changes it up for me.  I like what Robin said about the Awake time.  I know that Tanner is EXTREMELY touchy with A time, even a difference of 5-10 minutes either way throws him off.  Maybe having the awake time of 2hr5-2hr10min?

We had a rough night last night.  Sleeping by 8, up at 9 (but just fussed for 1 min on his own), up at 1, fussed for a bit, finally gave paci 2 times as it turned to crying.  Up at 2:30, fed him.  Up at 5, fussed for 20 min, quiet, up at 5:45, gave paci.  Up at 6:10, gave paci.  It is now 7:15 and he is sleeping, but I am SHOT!

thanks
it helps for someone else to look at it.  i remember dd1 being touchy and 5-10 min making or breaking it with sleep, but for her it would cause problems going to sleep.  alexandra will go to sleep easily whenever i put her down she just doesn't stay asleep.  will try as you suggest today, although we have had a bad start to the day so don't know how it will go...

last night in bed at 7, awake at 2:30, let her fuss but fed her at 3 as she was not settling.  then she was up again at 5:30.  again let her fuss but she was not settling ,fed her again at 5:50.  thought she would fall asleep after the feed but she didn't so i did shh pat and she finally fell asleep around 6:20 and slept until i woke her up at 8.  it is now 9:45 and she is very fussy.  not sure if i should put her down now...less than 2 hours A ...or try to stretch her until 10 ish.

sorry you had a bad night lori.  i remember hating this part with dd1, the worrying over naps and trying to get it right so she would sleep at night.  i think dd2 is better at night overall than dd1 and i am trying to obsess less but i really need a lot of sleep myself so i find it all hard.

good luck today :)

wow, maybe something in the air??? B/c we were up at those times too last night, lol.  I am just TOAST today.  I have not been getting good sleep (having a hard time settling even after he does go back to sleep) so I feel like I'm walking in a fog today.

Tanner is so incredibly fussy today.  I seriously could probably have put him down at 1hr awake, b/c he was acting so tired, but held him off longer.  Had a 1hr40 nap this morning, and has been about 45 min into the 2nd.  We are out tonight with a family dinner so HOPE this nap is good, and another short nap later before we go
