teething and shorter A times...when do i increase again...
« on: September 22, 2009, 08:42:05 am »
Hi

have been having major problems with A times ...now beleive teething to be the issue...

have reduced A times as she has been very tired much earlier than usual...now at 2.5 hrs A time again...

my LO is 7 months 3 wks so I know this is very low for A time...

I had my first decent nap day in 2 wks yesterday after reducing A time right down so I am sticking with this for 3 days to see if she can catch up sleep and get out of OT cycle...

how and when should I start to stretch A time again to avoid further problems in future?

thanks in advance

Hi Annette - that is a really hard question. It really just depends on how long she is in pain for. It is different for all LO. If she is taking decent naps for you with this A time then don't stress about it. I knew plenty of mom's who had LO with that A time at that age so don't worry about it being too low.

When she starts seeming better than increase it again, or just wait until she starts taking longer to go down for her nap, or starts cutting the naps short again :)

Unfortunately I don't think there is much you can do to avoid it. Often it just happens when there is teething, and you don't know that it is causing the messed up napping until you figure out that they are teething :) Sometimes they just seem to show the teething signs more than others and let you know they need to go down earlier.

HTH :)

thanks sherry lynn...

her bedtime settling is becoming near impossible also do you think the teething could be doing this too?

do you give her pain meds about 30 min before bedtime? If you don't then that might be the cause. The other cause is of course the usually UT or OT nonsense :)
