Wendy - actually believe it or not almost every time I've had a night like that it's been UT!! Crazy I know. They go down fine at night, making you think, oh good, it worked out and then their up in the middle of the night. Not enough A time before bed has been a constant issue with us on and off, but I didn't really realize it until the 2-1 nap switch. When we finally went on to one nap he was doing 5 hours A time before bed, no problem. Then we started getting these weird weird wakings, and I pushed back bedtime and they went away :)

I can't see how he could have been OT ??? He had less than 2 hours A time before bed. Where as he's been having way more A time before bed and you didn't get these wake ups ???  Sometimes just adding 15 extra minutes will make these wakings go away. But maybe I'm off base here.

Finn seemed fine lol little ens
I on the other hand was a basket case.  But hey ho.

So:
Bedtime last night - asleep by 7:30
NW 1:50 - 3:45
Awake 7:00
A
E 8:30
A
S 9:45 - 11:15
A
E 1:30 (not hungry - ate begrudgingly)
A
S 2:15 - 3:00 (stroller nap)
S 3:15 - 3:50 (crib extension after stroller nap)
A
Bedtime asleep by 7

So I belong to this mum & baby group and I went because he had a decent morning nap...plus after a night like that I needed the fresh air and needed to talk to other mums :-) It's a 5 k walk roundtrip too so it was good.  His afternoon nap wasn't the best but altogether I think it was ok, he wasn't overly fussy or anything, handled it well.  No CN so we will see what happens.

Thanks for being there girls!

NW 12:50 - DH dealt with this one, we thought he was probably hungry because he only managed 3 bottles yesterday and hardly took anything at bedtime - he just wasn't hungry during the day.  He was wedged in the end of the crib where he seems to end up these days lol.  He literally backs himself into a corner and gets upset about it.  DH moved him and went down to get the bottle...by the time he got back Finn had put himself back to sleep.  So he DF him...this is still under discussion because I am not sure why he did that.  Anyway, Finn took 7 oz and was basically asleep while eating.  True DF.  I think DH thought that he might sleep in longer in the morning if he ate.

He was awake by 5:30 - or at least that is when we heard him.  Got him out of cot by 6:30 and really struggled to keep him up this morning.  I think the 10 - 10.5 hour nights and no CN are causing OT.  Will this just correct itself or am I in for a big OT loop?  I think we are going to need the CN today.  I just want to make sure we are to keep heading this way...

He went totally off the wall by 8 so I have fed him and put him down for nap.  He is still in there raspberry-ing but I assume it won't be long until he drifts off.  That's usually the way it goes.

Sounds like a catnap would be a good idea. I hope you are able to get one out of him.

Hopefully he napped well. It does sound like he is getting into quite an OT situation. Poor little guy.

Yeah he's OT AND not eating today - probably due to the large night feed.  Arrrgh.

We have:
Awake 5:30 - out of crib at 6:30
A
E 7:50 - not hungry
A
S 8:15 - 9:45  - left him in crib until just after 10 because he was just playing and babbling
A
E 12:20 - not very hungry but did eat about 4 oz
A
S 12:40 - ?

Well tonight is date night for DH and I so the nanny comes at 3 and I am going to do a few errands before DH gets home.  I am going to tell her he needs a nap between 4 - 5 and then let her put him to bed at 7.  Does that sound ok or should I tell her an earlier bedtime even with the CN?

that sounds about right to me if she can get him to CN.
do you think it's possible he's teething wendy? sorry to ask such a basic question but the only times luke would practically not eat was when he was teething, they gave us a lot of nw's too. or does he always have issues with finishing his bottles?

Jess I feel like he has been teething for weeks if not months.  And only 2 bottoms to show for it.  He goes in fits and starts with eating, due to reflux, teething, you name it.  He's not the best with his cues - he is generally Mr. Non-committal unless something has really got his goat...like he's starving or OT.  Otherwise he is so hard to read.  When I really feel like his drool has kicked up and he's chewing my shoulder more I do give the teething remedies.  But it's so hard to tell.

He was defo OT because he only did a 30 min afternoon nap :-(  I extended with shush/hold (first time in yonks) and got another 45 mins = 75 min nap.  He's grumpy so I have just told the nanny that he must have a CN.  It should be due to when he is hungry again so she can feed him to sleep for the CN.

Will keep you posted ladies...thanks for following my pathetic saga hehe.

Thanks :-)  We ended up going for a nice meal and playing glow in the dark crazy golf hehe.  And then we decided to sneak to Toys R Us for...um...toys lol.  We keep looking at all the stuff he will be playing with soon enough.

So Finn had a CN for about 40 minutes for the nanny between 4 & 5 and she said he was asleep at 7.  So not bad all in all.  Here's hoping.
