Need some advice on when to feed lo
« on: October 02, 2009, 00:54:04 am »
My lo will be 11 months on the 11th and we are currently going through 2-1. We are using long am/short pm nap.  Now, I am having a difficult time on when to feed her. I try to follow her cues but it feels like she is constantly eating every two hours and she is not a big eater. I am not sure if I should try to move her breakfast up as it is now two hours after her bottle. I don't know if she will eat anything 30min after her bottle.  Then again, I haven't tried.
I have browsed others feeding routines and it just made me more confused.

Here our current routine
wake 7am
bottle 7:15am 7-8oz
breakfast 9am
snack 10:30am
nap 1 around 11-1pm
lunch 1pm
bottle 2:30/3pm 4-5oz
nap 2 4:15-5pm
dinner something very light here
bottle 7:15pm 8-9oz

any suggestions?

at 11 months we only had 2 milk feeds - one in the morning and one before bed. Meals were at 8am, 12pm and 5pm with snacks normally offered around 10.30am and 2.30pm.

Hi Sabs

Here is what we were doing round then.  We started doing solid breakfast before milk at around 10mos and doing that ironed out a lot of probs.

E730ish solids - porridge or toast or cereal
E0930ish milk
E12ish lunch solids
E 3ish milk (at 12 mos, dropped bottle here and turned it into a snack)
E 515ish supper
E 630ish milk

Thanks. I am thinking she may be ready to drop her afternoon bottle as she is only drinking 3ozs out of 6ozs.  For the next few days, I may move her bottle to 3pm. If that doesn't work I will replace it with a snack.
