Hi all. Well having a little nap problem, that is then (i think) leading to night sleep problems. Amelia has been on EASY since a few months old and thrives on it - so that is great! However, her A times are now becoming so long that there isn't enough hours in the day to fit her second nap in - she has ALWAYS needed longer A times then concidered average for her age. I know her sleepy cues well and watch them closely so i know when she is ready for a nap. The thing is, her shortest A time is generally from waking till her first nap - generally around 3 hrs. She wakes at 6 and begins to show sleepy cues around 9am. She will then nap for a good hour and half waking about 10.30. Thing is, from here she can EASILY go at LEAST 4 hours (putting next nap around 2.30pm) before showing any signs of being sleepy - this has began to push towards 5 hours! This is creating a few issues - I am now back at work and Amelia's childminder has to leave the house around 2.30pm to do the school run - so can't put Amelia down for a nap then and due to having to get in and out of car at two dif schools she doesn't really get to nap whilst they are out. So her childminder attempts to put her down around 1pm - but this is a struggle as Amelia just isn't ready - though she does go off eventually - but then we get night time issues as she wakes around 4.30 - 5am, bright as a button - not hungry, just awake - which i am assuming is due to lack of A time during the day?! To make matters worse, over the last week or so, Amelia has not been showing tired signs till around 3pm - occasionaly later - which of course is far too late for a nap as then she won't go to bed at 7pm. I don't know what to do? Surely she can't be ready for 1 nap so soon and she def can't go from 10.30am after first nap till bedtime......?
Hope you have made sense of this -and thanks for reading!
