5.5Month old and NW
« on: October 08, 2009, 08:42:33 am »
My daughter has been a pretty much good night sleeper up until weaning stage (18weeks, she's now 24). She started sleeping through the night at 13weeks, we then get to about 18weeks and she starts waking at 3am to have a night feed, l fed her the night feed for about a week and half, just incase it was a growth spurt but it carried on since then. Started introducing solids, once a day and that stopped the NW. She then started again, so included a lunch, then a few days later breakfast. At 20weeks she was on 3 meals a day.

She has slept on her tummy since 8weeks old and we've had no problems, we have also use a dummy helps her get to sleep she spits out when she's in a deep enough sleep - she used to cry for it a couple of times a night so she'd go back to sleep but now it's gotten worse.

Two weeks a go she learnt to roll from her tummy onto her back,So this disturbed her alot during the night, I am up and down for about an hour at 12-2 and again at 4ish. We've been working on her rolling the other way but we've not got that far with it, her hips get stuck when trying to roll and she can't get any further without help.

Last few days she has stopped trying to roll but still is waking as much as she did when rolling, I know she has a slight cold. I am just at a loss at why she is night waking and feeling quite blue about it and don't know what to do...

Sorry for the long rambling post..

I have to give her back her dummy, she refuses to suck her fingers, I was planning going cold turkey when she's a little older. During one of my half terms, so I can sleep at odd times.

She has two bottom teeth, got her second one three weeks ago. She is dribbling lots so it could be her top two as they are lumpy.

I tend to go with the flow around her routine. I will do a rough one that she does.

0600 - Wake, Breakfast (bottle and solids)
0630 - A - get changed, play
0830 - Sleep for anywhere between 40mins to two hours
1030 - Juice & Snack.
1045 - playing, tummy time & rolling
1130/1200 - Bottle & Solids
1300/1330 - Sleep 4for anywhere between 40mins to two hours
1600 - Bottle and Solids
1630 - playing, bumbo.
1730 - nap for 30/40mins
1800 - Bathtime
1830 - bottle
Bed anywhere between 1830 and 1900.

Everytime she goes for nap or sleep, she's under her mobile for 5mins with her bunny and blanket, then we turn her over and give her, her dummy.

No, sometimes she wakes and you can tell by looking at her that she doesn't want to be awake, so put dummy in and walk away...

I have been giving calpol but worried giving it too much at night...

Not always fine when dummy is in. some times is and sometimes not. Not she can't put it in herself, she can take is out and throw it around!
