11 month old NWs
« on: October 08, 2009, 15:38:37 pm »
We have been having frequent NW for the past 4 weeks and I am confused to what could be causing it.  I know teething are playing a role as she just got two more teeth.  Anyhow, the NW range between 3-4:40am. She cries out, sometimes settles herself, but other times I have to go in, rock her for a few minutes then place her back in her crib.  She seems to want to settle but can't. I do give pain meds but I am thinking they are wearing off at that time.  We reverted to long am/short pm nap as the short am nap was giving her EWs due to being OT.
Here is our current routine and she is on two bottles. Is it teeth, hunger, or part of the 2-1 transition? Could her molars be shifting at this age?

wake 7am
bottle 7:20am 7-8oz
breakfast 9am(she eats well here)
A 7-11am
nap 1 11-1am
lunch 1:20pm
snack 3pm
A 1-4:20pm
nap 2 4:20-5pm
dinner 5pm (not much of an eater here)
A 5-7:45pm
bottle 7:15am 9-10oz
S 7:45pm

I am currently trying to give her some milk in her sippy cup at snack time, but that is not going well. I do give her dairy products every day.

TIA

First year molars are horrible, they can give lots of trouble over several weeks. With my LO, when he was getting NWs from them, I would give one type of main meds at bedtime and another at my bedtime (old DF time) which would usually see him through til morning.

I think I responded to your other post too  ;D. It really does seem like you need to shorten her naps. Too much sleep during the day can cause NW. As far as teething goes. DD was miserable when the first molar was braking though. Try giving her some Motrin and see if it helps any.
