Ya, I think so.

Although I know that after rough nights/early mornings I did allow 55 minutes many days.  Don't want to start suggesting too many different things to you, but at the same time show that there is more than one way to do things and we all do them differently...not an exact science and no "right" answer iykwim.

ok well he gave clear tired signs around 9.45am so took him straight up and he was asleep by 9.55am. Had to stay with him but just in the room and only put down twice. Will keep you posted on the day...

just about to wake him from a 45 min nap so pleased about that.
Am thinking 3.5 hours till next nap but obviously will watch for cues too. What do you ladies think? Sound about right? Too short?
Thanks

Yeah, I think aim for that. If he seems perfectly fine than allow an extra 15 min, but I wouldn't dare do more than that after how it turned out yesterday ???

so glad he slept the whole 45 min for you. good luck for the PM nap :)

Yes I would do the early bedtime, and tomorrow stretch afternoon A out a bit more - add another 15 minutes on to it to see what that gets.

hi girls,
well he went to sleep perfectly but we had a NW at about 12.45am. He often shouts out but this time I had to go to him. It was weird as he would cry a bit then settle and then keep doing it. I gave him some pain meds incase it was teeth. Anyway he went back to slept and slept till 6.30am.
Not sure what to make of it really - very rare that I have to get up to him in the night - OT? It was not a full on screaming more of an unsettled moan. Pleased we got to 6.30am though.

Really, I am pretty sure this is teeth Becky.  And there isn't a whole lot you can do about it except give him something for the pain, and comfort him when he wakes. You might want to try the teething powders as lots of moms rave about how good they are.

It's FANTASTIC that he slept until 630 this morning, keep dong what you're doing because it's working out really well!

Personally I would guess that the later bedtime had something to do with it because the NW was far enough off from the night that he could have just as easily woken up at 5/5:30 again.

I put DS to bed early last night because he was OT, and we got a 5:45 wake up :(  Earlier bedtime (les A time) is a gamble for a lot of kids. I figured I had a 50/50 chance of it working and us getting a head on OT, and this time it just didn't go in my favor :(

sorry Sherry - what do you mean by the first sentence? You think he was waking from OT?

If so what A time do you suggest at the end of the day. I am stuck...

No, sorry. I wasn't clear. I was saying that I agree with you that doing just a little more A time last night might have helped. I agree with Mashi that the NW was probably teething. Now that I think about it though, he might have slept longer because he had pain medicine and his teeth didn't bother him as he came into light sleep.

I think that A time was perfect with that hour long nap.

I also just looked back and saw that the sleep was a little less yesterday, so I guess it's not too surprising that he slept a little longer at night?

No sure where you are in your day right now, but how has it gone so far?

Are you going to stretch out that second A time?

having a nightmare trying to get him down for the second nap. Just had to let DH take over as it was starting to make me feel really wound up so not good. It does not seem to matter what A time we go for. I cannot get out of the room and he just fights and fights. This am he slept for 45 mins, maybe 50 tops. I took him up at 3.40 A time, he rubbed his eyes - great and then just would not settle. Crying, sitting up and down etc.
This is so grim. It is just too much to obsess about every nap and dread them. I actually feel sick when it comes to nap time as I know it will be a fight. Yuck
