Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I really appreciate all the information this site contains. Overwhelming but very valuable so thank you to everyone.
I am just looking to see if anyone has any feedback to help me get through the first few (rough) days doing the BW techniques.
My baby boy, Evan, is 4 1/2 months old. I just started BW this week with him (today was my second day of implementing) and whew, I'm pooped. Before we started BW, I let him lead his own schedule ie. when to nap, when to eat. I tried not to but did end up nursing him to sleep. When he wakes at night, I would nurse again, to the point he would be nursing much of the night. My mistakes, I know.

His naps during the day are short (max. 45 minutes) and his demeanor is overall pretty grumpy and whiny (which I'm sure is because of lack of sleep). I'm desperate to turn my grumpy little man into a happy joyful one and hope the key is to put him on a schedule and helping him sleep longer and better.
I copied and pasted the questions that need to be answered here so you can get an idea of where I am.
Do you bottle or breastfed?? breastfeed though trying to give a bottle when he will take it (to give mommy a break)
How much? or how long? he's a super-fast eater and will empty both breasts in about 10 minutes. I try to offer more but he doesn't want any.
If breastfed.. one side or both?? (at each feed) usually both
How many wakes per night? 3 +
What’s your LO like when waking at night? How long is he/she up? he's looking for my breast and will cry relentlessly for it. He's up for about 1/2 hr-1 hr if I don't give in.
When you go to him/her is she fussing or crying? Or is it a mantra cry? crying.. not sure what a mantra cry is
What have you tried to settle?? not sure what this question means
What do you do for A time and how long is it? play toys, sing, watch tv, put him in the baby carrier if I need to run errands
Are there developmental issues such as teething or milestones? lots of drool so I'm sure his teeth are bothering him, he's been rolling back to tummy since 3 months
Have you introduced cereal? Why, how much, and how many times a day? (for LO’s under 6 months) I've introduce rice and oat cereal because he's a big boy and showed an early interest in our food. I give him a couple of teaspoons twice a day but he rarely finishes it
Do they have a prop? If so what is it? I'm sure it's my breast and/or me holding him
Do they have a lovie? no
Thank you SO much!
