Backwards Steps

Just wondering if there is any particular culprit when nightwakings regress?  DD2 was sleeping 10 to 6 at 8 weeks, 10 to 5 and 9 weeks, 10 to 4 at 10 weeks and now at 11 weeks is doing 10 to 3.  Is this just her being a baby and having erratic hunger or should I be looking at something else e.g. our day etc?  Thanks

Hi there, could you post your day in EAS with naps etc.  It might help uncover the issue.  However, that said, it's not uncommon for them to have a growth spurt and need to eat more frequently, even at night.

For the last 2 nights dd has done 11 hours straight!  I suspect THIS is the growth spurt as it is a huge change to what she was doing.  How likely is it that she could just drop her night feeds and start sleeping through like that?  Surely it must be a spurt or brewing illness?

Hi there, well at 11 weeks doubtful :-)  But you never know - don't want to completely dash your hopes hehe.  I have heard people say their LO slept through at 3 months.  11 hours - what a trooper she is!  She must be growing up a storm.  They usually go through a period of eat eat eat and then sleep sleep sleep with a GS.  Finn was in a GS the first time he slept through.  He only did about 6 or 7 hours though - ahh I remember the sweet bliss.  But it actually startled us awake and we were panicked lol.  And then it kind of tapered off after a day or so and we had that 1 a.m. & 4 - 5 a.m. feed forever.

It's weird because even when they sleep through sometimes you don't because you are always with one ear open waiting for the other shoe to drop.

We haven't had the eat eat eat bit but maybe she'll do it in reverse!  She sleeping more than usual in the day too and seems "quieter" in herself so it must be something.  Shame, I do like these 11 hour nights! I'll continue to drop the dreamfeed for a bit to see what she does. I've dropped it for 2 nights and both those nights she's done the long stretches.  I may yet be back to my original question ;)
