Does this count as 40m or 1hr 5?
« on: November 07, 2009, 01:29:11 am »
LO and I have just come back from a nap that lasted (on the clock) 1 hr 5 min.

I p/s for the first 22min, then he went into deep sleep until the 40m mark. I resettled him by putting him on my shoulder for about 90sec until he was calm and drowsy again. I then p/s until we hit the 1hr 5min mark when the squirming and grunting that had happened for the previous 23 min escalated into crying and needing to be up.

So, is this nap counted as 40m or 1hr 5min? I'm not sure if the 23 minutes I spent p/s the second time while he was in light sleep counts as real sleep...

His eyes were closed for the vast majority of those 23 minutes, he was definitely in light sleep but not deep sleep.

Thanks for your help!
Taking it one day at a time.

I would consider the time he had his eyes closed to be his sleep period as he was in a phase of sleep whether light or deep :)
