Pilfer an adorable picture of Mouse from DH's FB albums, crop it and change my avatar?  The crop and change I understand, it's the other I can't figure.  Of course, 'puter boy is off fishing.   ::)

right-click on the picture, and then select "save picture as..." 

save it wherever you like on your computer, and then open it in your cropping-program.  :)

It got more complicated as it was a bmp and the site didn't want it.  Sooo, needed to change to jpeg.  All designed to complicate the world, right?

Or, we could just blame my scruffy Nerfherder for putting in bmp format in the first place.  What was he thinking?
