Hugs romy,

Yes, the soother does seem to help with the reflux.  DD was also given the soother but I found it to be very bad in the sleep department.  She wouldn't go to sleep without.  Anyway, I got rid of it after she had it for about a month at 3.5 mos(?).  What I did to help with her reflux was

- offer small feeds (3-4 oz) and slowly increase that amount when she got older.
- elevate the crib to about 5-6 inches (two thick telephone books under one end of the mattress)
- let her sleep on her side by propping a small pillow behind her back.

If you don't want to use meds to control his reflux then I think there are other moms in the CRC board who can offer some suggestions.  GL
