Swaddling success!
« on: November 26, 2009, 19:57:51 pm »
I posted on here a few weeks ago asking for help to extend my 4 month olds naps. I tried the holding through the jolts technique and it worked brilliantly. It took a few goes and me trying to hide out of sight while doing it but after 1 week he was regularly having 1.5 to 2 hr naps.

When i spoke to the H.V and said what i had been doing she suggested trying to swaddle. I was unsure due to lo's age and the fact that he has learnt to roll over but gave it a try. It definitely made a difference. I now hear him wake after 45 mins make a few noises then go back off. Now he is having better naps the nights have improved and we are also able to managed 4 hrly feeding. Just waiting for the teething to kick in and mess it all up now!!!

Thought this might be helpful for someone in a similar situation as i got so much advice from reading posts on this fab forum.

Woohoo!!  What I wouldn't have given to have naps like that when DS was 4 months old!  Well done :)
