I would have gone bonkers but I haven't had the chance yet  :P lol. Today I made homemade perogies which at least they tried to eat. They loved the filling and licked all of the ketchup off of them but gagged on the crust. I'll wait a week and try again.

I agree that some days they eat a lot and some days you can't get them to touch their favourite foods. Keeps us on our toes!

The perogies were awesome but a lot of work.

I FINALLY got the girls to eat jello today after almost 4 months of trying. It does happen with these spirited lo's but they take their time working up to it sometimes. I just find sometimes it's frustrating as it seems like we're in a 'food rut' by eating the same things all the time.

Food rut is an excellent description.  That's how I feel right now.  Going to try tofu tomorrow.  Wish me luck

Wow tofu? Good luck and let us know how it works out :)

Now after reading Raising Your Spirited Child, I'm starting to understand why the girls are weirded out by textures of clothing, food and paints/crayons etc. At least the girls are kind by having aversions to pretty much the same things. I couldn't handle trying to remember different things for each of them lol.

Oh my gosh this sounds so similar to my 11 month old!! She keeps rubbing her eyes when I feed her too, and then complains ... mealtime is a fight.  Something she loves one day she is refusing the next.  What annoys me the most is that she USED to be such a good eater ... ate everything I gave her.  Now she full on argues with me sometimes - declares herself closed for business by holding her arms out in a "stop" fashion with her lips completely shut and pouted. If I persist she basically yells at me.

Sorry I can't offer any helpful advice, I can only empathise at the moment ... I'm going to start my own post now too :)

The tofu worked out great!!!  So happy and feeding is better too. i finally switched to meals before bottle and I think that made a big difference.  I think he acts all tired sometimes when he doesn't like what I am feeding him ond/or not hungry enough.  So I put the food away and wait a half hour and try again.  I decided that I was going to stop getting all worked up when he didn't eat.  He'll eat when he's hungry right?!  :)
