I often wonder what some of the things are that you list over there across the pond: shreddies, potato faces, and fish fingers (fish sticks?) are a few off the top of my head.

Yesterday was:

B-oatmeal with raisins, 1/2 an orange, asked for raviolis so gave her a toddler meal of them and milk.
S-2 bananas (a bit less as mommy shared) and raisins on the way to my Aunt's
L-lasagna (hardly touched), bread (lots of bites of everyone's before lunch was served as we all started sneaking them and she saw and begged), broccoli (a couple of bites) -- was mostly full from snacking on the way up in the car and water.
S-cheerios and milk
D-didn't have a real dinner as did NOT nap on the way up and I threw her in pajamas and we drove home hoping she'd sleep on the way home. (she had cheerios and assorted goodies my Grandparent's gave her up to this point)

Today so far:
B-scrambled egg, cinnamon toast, and milk
S-craisins
L-grilled cheese, a yogurt, and milk

That's where we are now. I think later will be:
S-crackers and juice perhaps
D-pierogies and veggies (not sure how she'll take the pierogies as she isn't a mashed potato fan. we'll see.

Looking for ideas. Can I join you?

 Breakfast - 1.5 weetabix
 Snack - raisins, malt loaf
Lunch - Beans on toast ( a first and he loves it)
 Snack - fruit bar
 Dinner -bulghar wheat with veggies

Cant seem to get anything else on the breakfast rotation apart from weetabix or porridge. He's been the same since 6 mos old!

Welcome BrodiesMummy (Emma?) - Alice is pretty much a porridge or weetabix girl, we do have the odd toast or pancake morning but she loves a big bowl of porridge (and it's a good start to the day, right?). Have started to add a mini box of raisins the last few days to make it more interesting . . . but now she'll probably not eat it without LOL!

Nicole - I find myself wondering the same thing but the other way round, iykwim?
Shreddies are a breakfast cereal - look like mini brown waffles. Potato faces are just that - smiley faces made of potato with a 'coating' on - straight from freezer to oven. Fish fingers are 'sticks' of fish with a breadcrumb (or batter) coating - again straight from freezer to oven . . . maybe the visuals will will help  ;)

Absolutely helpful. Shreddies are like "rice chex" a brand/type of cereal here. Potato faces I have NOT seen, however I did see alphabet shaped tater tots (breaded potato things) out shopping today, and the fish fingers are our "fish sticks".

Anything you want to know about, just ask away. :)

Glad the visuals helped  ;D And as soon as I remember what it is I'm confused about I'll give you a shout  ;)
Fish sticks here are a whole different thing - made of 'crab meat' but the term is used loosely.

Today - not brilliant, but okay
B: porridge with raisins (only ate about half), 1 apricot, lots of milk
S: yoghurt coated sesame snap, more milk
L: out for lunch - pulled the cheese out of her sandwich and ate it, then a couple of bites of the bread, pulled the pastry off her sausage roll and ate a few bites of the sausage, handful of grapes, juice
S: slice of savoury flapjack - spat the second half out  :P (not that she needs the extra oats tho LOL!), water
D: spicy tuna risotto, couple of pieces of apricot, most of a banana, small slice of fruit cake, water

We do the same. I have added ALL sorts of fruit to DD's oatmeal (porridge). Pieces of apple or pear. DD loves fruit so it helps her eat something more substantial when it's added to the oatmeal. MMMM.

Nicole, you don't know Shreddies???  Shreddies are very much available in Canada, I've been eating them my whole life, I never in a million years would have thought they were not an American thing as well, seeing as most of our products are actually American!!  Wow...learning something new every day!  (maybe it is Nabisco Shredded Wheat in the US?)

I was thinking the same thing Mashi! Oh and the potato faces, I think at one time McCain marketed something like those as "Smiles", but I haven't seen them for awhile here.

Today so far:

B - Cheerios & soy milk - woohoo, no more formula finally!!!! (I had been mixing it to use what I had left)
S- rice krispie cake, water
L - banana & prune babyfood - gave her the pot to eat by herself, what a mess! Organic corn puff thingys, soy milk, toast with soy butter
S- probably will be apple slices & MumMums
D- pizza tonight, which should be interesting b/c Spencer's portion has no cheese, Masyn has decided she doesn't like the "red stuff" (aka pizza sauce), I want vegetarian and DH loves all meat. All I have is 18" frozen pizza shells, so I can't make individual ones.

hunter is a big weetbix and porridge fan too and like others i add all kinds of things so that he can get some variety while still having his usual favourites (eg. various dried fruits -apricot, sultanas, pineapple, etc, fresh fruit or tin fruit pieces, chopped banana plus a squeeze of honey and a little cinnamon is one of his favs, puffed wheat is good in weetbix and other dry puffed cereals). he has also been occasionally requesting my cereal (sultana bran or special K) and wants it with yoghurt on instead of milk like i do (i cant stand soggy cereal ;) )

yesterday
breaky - porridge with dried apricot pieces, diluted juice
snack - dried fruit and nut mix, water
lunch - vegemite and cheese sandwich, half banana, milk
snack - yoghurt, apricot, half mandarine, water
dinner - roast pork and apple sauce, roast potatoes, steam corn on cob, broccoli, carrots. vanilla ice-cream, milk.

today - weetbix with dried sultanas and pineapple, diluted juice
snack - babybel cheese, water
lunch - ww pita bread filled with homous and grated carrot, half banana, milk
snack - will be wataermelon and canteloupe, yoghurt, water
dinner - will be fettucine with smoked salmon, cherry toms, dill, olives, milk

Mashi-Shredded wheat tends to be bigger, rectangular and fairly and not as flat looking as that picture makes them appear. I have a hard time finding PLAIN shredded wheat now as most are frosted with an icing type coating. SUGAR ewww

Heidi-You're going to have one interesting pizza!

The rest of the night went off as planned

S: ritz veggie something or other crackers and cheese
D: pierogies (which Ava wasn't much of a fan of as usual, had a few bites) and milk she also mooched bites of our friends chicken parm sandwich before her dinner so that could have contributed. When she says "a bite. a bite. want some. Peeeeeze." he can't resist :)

Cathie, I hope Nick is doing better today!  :-* :-*

Today was not a good eating day:

B- scrambled egg with ham
L - chicken broth with rice and veggies and chicken breast (he barely ate)
D - He kept asking for dinner, he ate 1/2 yogurt and started crying, so I offered him some beans on a toast, and he starting yelling and didn't eat anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried again after 30 min, but without success!! He didn't have dinner!  >:(

I hope tomorrow is better!
