growth spurt @ 18mo?
« on: December 08, 2009, 14:57:34 pm »
My LO has been napping (over the last week) up to 3hrs daily, which is an hr more than normal. Also he has been pigging out, I mean, for example... he has just wolfed down 2 huge bananas and 8 crackers in under 10mins!! :o he was bawling his eyes out trying to get in the kitchen and was like this yesterday too... do they have growth spurts at 18mo??

Or is he a piggy? Lol x

I think the 6 month mark is the norm for growth spurts as they get older... Spencer is a couple of months away from 18 months, but I'm expecting one from her and then a month later it will be Masyn's turn! Thankfully their birthdays weren't closer together or they'd eat me out of house and home at the same time. I bet you'll find that shortly his clothes will be getting a little small!

That is so interesting that you brought this up. My LO is almost 13 months and I swear for the last month he was going through a growth spurt. So much so that I started feeding him in the night again. Sometimes 8 oz bottles of milk and it has never affected his daytime consumption. I'm in the process of getting rid of the feeds but it would definitely make sense to me that they go through one every 6 months or so. That's great that you have such a good eater and sleeper!!

We definately went through a growth spurt at 18 months.  Really noticed the difference in her clothes and was asking for food ALL the time!

Ah thanks for the replies. He's a lot better today, not eaten half as much as the last few days!

DD also definately had a growth spurt at 18 months exactly.  I know this because she hardly ever eats anything at all any other time.
