Retesting for main allergies and looking good!
« on: December 22, 2009, 15:43:35 pm »
Just wanted to share:

We retested DD2 for her main allergies last week (milk, corn, soy, green beans and tomatoes) and it is looking REALLY promising.

We did the patch testing and there were no reactions to corn, soy and green beans (YAY!) and a little bit of an irritant to the milk and tomato - nothing at all like what it first looked like.  At the 48 hr mark there wasn't anything to see on any of them...wooohooo.  I have to send the pictures in to our dr (had a huge snow storm that closed everything down, so couldn't get in - of course!).  But excited to see what he has to say and what our next course of action is.

If the corn is gone that would be a Christmas miracle.   ;D  Honestly it is the worst one for us here in the US, corn is EVERYWHERE.  And if we could give her milk products, I think I would do cartwheels!

Will keep you posted.  It's been a long journey for us, but in the overall scheme of things 16 months isn't too bad to have outgrown most of her allergies and possibly all.  We'll see!

Thank you!!

I actually gave DD a cookie yesterday that was baked with butter.   :o  ;D  Looking ok so far - but her symptoms usually take a day or two.  So we'll see.

Tari, I am THRILLED for you. THRILLED. We only dealt with milk & soy here and I remember when we moved onto soy successfully I thought I was in heaven, until we got to milk, and I think I almost cried tears of joy for a week.  So I can only imagine how you must feel.....totally elated!!!  Happy new year!

Thank you Mashi and Lucy!!!!  ;D :-* And yes Mashi - elated is a perfect description.  Although it's funny because I've been very nonchalant about it IRL.  I'm still not quite buying it, lol.

Still have to go see the ped allergist to see how to proceed with other trials, but so so happy for my girl.  Thanks for your support.
