feeding advice for newbie !
« on: January 04, 2010, 22:19:05 pm »
Hi first of all i will introduce myself my name is Emma I'm 33 and mum to 10 year old Joshua and 6 month Liam,  i have been follow the bw routine for about a month and it is going really well as Liam settles himself in the day within 10 minutes ,as Liam has been on three meals a day for over a month now is it OK that he takes milk at the following amounts

7 AM Breakfast with 7oz bottle
12pm lunch with 7oz bottle
4.30 Dinner with 7oz bottle
7.30 bottle before bed

(sometimes he wakes for a feed in the middle of the night)

Do you ladies think he is getting enough milk? as he's only just starting to sleep through at the moment he regularly wakes at about 3 or 4am but only drinks a few Oz's so don't think it is hunger if you offer water he will take it ???
Emma mummy to Joshua born 16/07/1999 weighing 7 Ibs and Liam born 13/07/2009 weighing 7 Ibs 15 Oz's ouch

Looks good to me too! Don't forget any milk in food like yoghurt, cheese etc counts towards their daily intake. The recommend that babies get a minimum of 20oz + solids so anything over that is a bonus.

My 7.5 month DD is getting between 12 and 20oz of liquid milk a day + solids and is still waking for a feed at night where she will usually drain a 7oz bottle.

oh...OK it seems i just have a greedy baby lol saying that recently when he wakes in the night he has only taken 2 Oz's instead of the normal 7 so maybe we are getting there, my first baby slept through from 8 weeks!
