A "thankless" task?

Heeeello!

This is just a silly thing really, but thought I'd ask. I do my best to help out answering various posts, but my "showing appreciation" count never goes up. I remember thinking that it was a tally of how often you had donated to BW when I was new, and then one day someone explained I could click on it to 'thank' another poster. Do newbies learn this somehow? Maybe it was in the welcome stuff and I missed it?

And it took me ages to realise what that appreciation thing was, and I always forget to use it even when I am very grateful!!

I think some people know to do it and others don't.

I don't pay much attention to it really. Certainly doesn't mean no-one likes your advice  .

I hear ya.  It used  to  make me a bit upset, sorry, that mine never  went up even though people  thanked me    I stopped focusing on it.  Great idea, but not  everyone  uses it.
