hmmm tricky. For me I would not let her sleep that long unless you think she is sick. Is this very out of character? If DS fell asleep on me I would know there was something seriously wrong! So...if you suspect illness then yes I would be inclined to let her sleep but if not then I would def wake her after half an hour max....that is if she will take another nap later? Some will not????

So...after falling asleep on my DH's lap she woke up after 1 hr! Becky I just read your post later, I should have woke her after 30m  :-\ it's all so strange she had never woke early from a nap since she's on 1, so I think she's OT when she falls sleep like that but then...waking early from a nap means what at this age? when she was younger I'd say UT but now it's def not the case. I'm sure she's not sick..

I say 3hrs bc she used to nap for 2 and sometimes even 3 hrs before everything fell apart. For how long should be her nap maxm? I'm really having a problem bout bedtimes too, for many different reasons I can't put her down as early as i should and for sure that's making it worse. I'll improve her bedtime tomorrow and see how it goes...

I had just turned my lap top on to write how happy I was that today was perfect (woke at 7, nap 11-1, bedtime 6) when...I heard her voice!!! :o OMG!

Last night had a little late bedtime at 7pm (woke from nap at 1) so had 2 NW in the first hour, but then ST till 7am!  :D

I think with the early bedtime today she'll do even better, I hope.

Ok, now she's sick!  ::) - it's a light cold, had a little temperature and nose is running.

Last night was ok, she did 12 hrs with 2 NW but i think they were bc of the cold. Today she was very happy in the morning, even being sick, went off for her nap at 11.30 (woke 6.40) and now, as she's not going to DC, i'm going to let her sleep 3 hrs if she goes that long, what do you think? or maybe just 2.30 so bedtime doesn't change too much and then wake time too??

I was just wondering something today...her A time will continue to increase as she grows, right? so in a while she won't sleepy by 11? then all my plan will be ruined... ???

Yes her A time will increase but it'll take a little while and we'll re-address the situation then!

If you think she is poorly and tends to sleep when poorly then let her sleep.  I know with DS he doesn't sleep even when poorly.  You may have to make bed a little later if she sleeps 3hrs though!

Today no DC again so most probably will do well again, I just want her to show me she's able to give me a night like that on a DC day and I'll be so happy and reliefed.

For now I jwant to thank you guys so much for helping me through this rough days... you are the best!! :-* :-*

I realize I have an issue w/ bedtime. My DH arrives home from work around 7, before all the changes DD used to have about an hour or more w/ Daddy before bedtime, but now he's here either on the exact time she has to go down or a few minutes before, which is making it very hard for us to have an early bedtime, she gets super excited and I feel guilty to "take her away from him".

Yesterday she went down for her nap at 12:00 and woke at 1.30, I don't know why bc she usually goes further...then I was getting her ready for bed when he arrived then she could only fall asleep at 7.30 which was too late then, of course, has 2 NW.

Sometimes it seems so hard keeping up the routine, life just keeps coming in our way... ::)

I know - it is very hard. DS has always had an earlyish beditme but he usually gets to see daddy although if I know that DH is due home any less than half an hour before his bed he just does not come in as it disrupts DS too much. Poor bloke! No he is fine, he goes to his office or just leaves work a bit later and gets some things done x

We have similar here with the whole Daddy issue.  But you could tell him to do the nightshift to make up for it!  ;D

It'll only be for a little while though and sometimes you have to try and do what's best for the LOs... easier said than done I know when you then have DH moaning they have barely seen DS / DD!

LoL yeah Laura that's a GREAT idea! ;D and OMG how do you know? that's exactaly what he tells me...and I keep explaining that it's what's best for her and if she's miserable the next days I'm the one who have to handle it. He understands it, most of the time ::)

Wow Becky your DH is very understanding! I don't think mine would go back to his office, but anyway I'll try and make him wait outside a little before he gets in.

Now check it out: it's 7.30pm here and she's been in her crib for 40 min, trying to go to sleep but having such a hard time.  I just don't get it...again today she woke from her nap after 1.3, why?? the only thing can think of is...UT? (this is what I was afraid of, bc I can't start the day any earlier and can't take her to DC any later), then I did a nice and long wind down put her in her crib at 6:40, I thought she was going to sleep smoothly..but wrong!  :( I think I just have to accept the fact that it ain't gonna be perfect anymore, I'm so sad bc I was so used to consistent STTN  :'( :'(

Next semester I'll try to make her go in the morning or find another DC. x

No - I don't send him back to work !!! LOL. He has a home office outside of the house so if he comes home near to DS bedtime he goes there.
Can you post what your day looked like and I will see if I have any thoughts xxx

Oh I see  ;D, LOL ...well that's perfect then.

Her day was like this:

7 wake up
11.30 nap
1 awake
6.45 crib
7.30 asleep

so too late bedtime after 1.30 nap?
