That's one of the things about a 20 min nap - it is so short that you have to be quite vigilant because an extra 5 mins is a lot compared with the total nap, iyswim.

Hope your bedtime goes okay.

Yes, like Clare said - it's a bit of a challenge making sure you get the timing just right!!

Early night should give you a fresh start tomorrow  :) (we need to do the same thing!).

Thats true Clare I hadn't thought about that, 5 minutes is a quarter of the whole nap time! I will definitely be more vigilant tomorrow!
bed time was ok, lets hope for a good start tomorrow. I want to get a proper hang of this but then on monday we're flying to the UK, to oxford for a week, so any routine's going to go out the window with the flight and 2 hr time difference, but if I at least have a routine to fall back on I wont feel too helpless.

aw thanks Claire :)
um no DS didnt sleep in, he did go down for his naps nicely but slept less than 1.5 hr his second nap :(
Got him in bed then DH and I went out for sushi and the cinema, but halfway into the sushi the babysitter called to say that DS had thrown up, we were close by so got home, finished cleaning him up and got him in bed, it's 20 to 10 turkish time, and he is yet to stay a sleep! So, hardly the ideal birthday treat but I dont feel frustrated or upset thankfully. I just hope he isnt coming down with anything 2 days before we travel!

thanks again  :-*

What a shame!  Hope it is nothing serious and that it doesn't mess up your trip.

Oh no!

Praying that he gets better and it doesn't affect your trip.  Are you visiting family?

thanks!
Yes my sister and her family recently moved to the UK, oxford, my brother in law hopes to do a PhD so it looks like they'll be there for a few years. She has an almost 4 year old DD and a DS 2 months younger than Arin so it'll be fun-and crazy-to see how they interact :)
Well he finally settled soon after my previous post, so hopefully we'll get through the night with no NW and I think tomorrow morning I wont limit him to 20min and let him sleep as much as he needs to. He's been coughing the last couple of days but it isnt ill-like coughing, more like swallowing his spit-like coughing iyswim? DH thinks its teething issues, could be, we'll see. Thanks for the good wishes and prayers :)

On a day where I'm going to let Ben have a long am nap (after a bad night like you've just had) I would try and get him down as early as possible - so even 2 hours after he's got up if he will!!  Then when he wakes, if he's had a decent amount of nap I will make sure I give him about 3hrs A time before then next one.  Then hopefully they still have an early bedtime, but not *too* ridiculously early as that pm nap is late enough in the day.

We were up early again with Ben screaming - definately teeth here too, finally!

Sounds like you're trip will be fun - lovely to have some time with your sister and her family  :)

thanks for the advice Claire. Well we didnt get any NW but he was awake at 6 :( Tried to get him to sleep again, gave him calpol, seemed like he'd settle but alas... So DH got up with him at 7, bless him, put him down around 9.30 but he slept less than an hour :( He was ok'ish while he was awake, but absolutely shattered, so we had him down by 1pm (about 2.5 A time). He just cried a bit at the 45min mark but seems to have settled again thankfully. It really does seem like teeth. But then I couldnt explain the weird coughing, and funnily enough I got an email from my sister saying that her DS was teething and had an accompanying cough too! So it must be related. Hopefully he'll be over the worst by monday!
Poor Ben, teething is noooooo fun! I definitely wont be taking my teeth for granted anymore! :) Hope he feels happier soon!
