5 month old waking at 3 for a feed
« on: February 07, 2010, 00:01:30 am »
My five month old had been on the four hour easy routine and it was working perfectly. He feed at 7, 11, 3 and 7 plus dream feed at 11.30. He has always been great for taking his naps which I make sure are never longer than 2 hours. Last week he started looking for a bottle at 6 and would still take his 7 bottle before bed plus he is waking at 3 for a feed. We did use the pick up put down method but he would wake an hour later and was rooting at the boob for a feed. Is this an indication that he is ready for solids???

Hi there, it could be a growth spurt, there is one around 6 mths but nothing to say they can't be ahead of schedule!  It sounds like genuine hunger so I would feed him.  If it doesn't settle down in a few days to a week we can take a look at the routine.
The tweaking never stops!
