UT at bedtime, woke up 45min later, and partied all night
« on: February 09, 2010, 19:17:39 pm »
Hello,
I put Laura, my 10 mos old, down to sleep too early last night and as a result she woke up 45 minutes later.  That was at 8:15pm.  She decided to stay up until 11:45pm.  There was no getting this girl to sleep despite the fact she was giving us tired signs.  So today I have an extremely grumpy baby.  What do I do now - put her down for bedtime 3 hours early??
And for my learning and for future, should I have just persisted with PUPD until she fell asleep?  I did PUPD for 1/2 an hour and I gave up cuz I knew my daughter was simply NOT going to fall asleep.

Hi Jane,  thanks so much for responding.  I don't think it's a schedule thing but a mistake.

Typically
up 6:45am
S 10:15am - 11:45am
S 3:15pm - 4:30
S 8pm

My MIL babysat Laura on Monday and told me that she woke up from her PM nap just before 3:45/4:00pm.  So I put her down at 7:30pm.  She actually went down easy and didn't fight me.  But then woke at 8:15pm.  That is when I knew that MIL was wrong about the time. So I asked hubby and he was sure it was after 4pm but unsure exactly when.  Nonetheless my LO stayed up til 11:45pm. I let her sleep as much as she liked yesterday and she did nap a little longer (and earlier) than usual.  And we had a NW last night - probably cuz she's still tired.  I hope I can fix this...

Hi Jane, Laura's A time is 3.5 in the morning, you think I should make it a little longer?
