4mo 3weeks; night wake times shifted
« on: February 11, 2010, 13:44:15 pm »
Hi,
I was here a few weeks ago, again for our night wakes. For two days she slept till morning what I changed was only DF time, I moved it back to 22:30 and made W2S at 2am. I thought things were OK then 3rd night she woke up at 3.40am again. We were on a 4 hour routine, when she woke up again, I BFed her. As I thought she might be hungry I moved to 3,5 hour routine to give more calories daytime and gave cluster feed. She is waking every night once and at different times.
Our routine is like
07.00 W AND BF
08.55 S TILL 09.50
10.30 E
11.45 S TILL 13.10
14.00 E
15.35 S TILL 16.05
17.00 E
18.45 E
19.30 BED TIME sleeps on her own in 10-15 minutes
last night she woke up at 04.40am, BF again, morning wake at 7am.

And one more thing she does not cry when she wakes up in the middle of the night, she talks and talks little mantra cries and calls me I wait a while hoping that she turns back to sleep after 10 minutes I go and BF she closes her eyes and empties my breasts. When I put her into her bed she is awake all the time, and in 10 minutes or so she sleeps again.

What I shall I do I do not know. I do not want to make her cry and PU/PD, any other suggestions do you have? I will appreciate your comments.

If she's not crying I would just leave her. She may get herself back off to sleep. If she does start to cry I would feed, it is still totally normal for her to need a night feed at this age.

Oh then it is a relief, I thought she should not need that night feed at this age. Tracy says 4 month old should be sleeping all night long in her book, or does that night mean until 5am or so? Sometimes I really get confused, thanks to you all you are here.
So I can move back to 4 hour routine I guess.
When sould I expect real night long sleeps, after 6th month??

I think the book is misleading. Some babies are sleeping through at this age but by no means all. It really varies what time they start sleeping through. Some are doing 12 hrs straight by 6 months, some are nearer to one year.
